Getting started

How do I add Smart Notes to an order?

After installing the app, a "Smart Notes" block automatically appears on every order, customer, and product page in your Shopify admin. Click "+ Add note" to create your first note.

The Smart Notes block isn't showing up. What do I do?

Go to the order page, click "Customize" in the top right, and make sure the Smart Notes block is enabled. If it still doesn't appear, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app, or contact us at info@untapped.nl.

How do I search my notes?

Click "Search notes" in the Smart Notes navigation menu inside your Shopify admin. Type at least 2 characters to start searching across all note titles and content.

Pin notes

How do I pin a note?

Open a note and click the 📌 Pin button in the header. Pinned notes always appear first in the block on the order, customer, or product page. Click again to unpin.

Can I pin multiple notes?

Yes — you can pin as many notes as you like. All pinned notes sort to the top of the list.

@mentions & notifications

How do I set up @mentions?

Go to Smart Notes → Settings and add your team members (name + email). Once added, you can type @ in any note editor to mention them. They'll receive an email notification and see an in-app banner next time they open Smart Notes.

I mentioned someone but they didn't get an email. Why?

Check that the email address in Settings is correct. Also check their spam folder. If the issue persists, contact us at info@untapped.nl.

How do I dismiss a mention notification?

When you have unread mentions, a blue banner appears at the top of the note editor. Click "Dismiss" to mark them as read.

Templates

How do I save a custom template?

Open a note, write the content you want to save as a template, then click the "📋 Templates ▾" dropdown in the toolbar and select "💾 Save current note as template". Give it a name and click Save.

How do I delete a custom template?

Open the Templates dropdown and click the 🗑 trash icon next to the template you want to remove.

Export & billing

How do I export my notes?

Click "Export" in the Smart Notes navigation menu. You can export all notes or filter by resource type and category before downloading as CSV, PDF, or JSON.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes, at any time. Go to your Shopify admin → Settings → Billing → Apps, find Smart Notes, and cancel. Your notes will remain in read-only mode after cancellation.

Will my notes be deleted if I uninstall?

If you reinstall within 48 hours, all your notes will still be there. After 48 hours, all data is permanently deleted in compliance with Shopify's data policies.
